Why I’ll Always Think Big

Two years ago, I posted an article about how I love to look at signs within our environment. This is because I believe they are a constant reminder that I can always think bigger (see link below).

Fast forward to 2022, I believe that the Luxus soap that has been selling at our highest rates has helped me to take small steps forward in accomplishing this (see link below for further reading on our statistics). Ultimately, in order to accomplish long term goals, we must set small short term goals. Even if you’re not at the very top, marginal improvements are an indication that the arrow is pointing in the right direction. Showing these marginal improvements for us has taken hard work and gaining a better understanding of the community which we provide to.

With that said, I felt it was important to acknowledge that this brand which we are currently building is a continuation or evolution of the previous ice cream logo (first article link at the top). I felt that we needed to come up with a name and product that was more practical and this required a complete redesign from my previous logo. It has been an ongoing project for 2 years now and I feel that we have now reached a solution that has left me in a place of much greater satisfaction.

As mentioned in my previous article (below paragraph 2 at the top), the ability to understand people for this brand has paid off so far. Our second market was not as active as far as traffic and attendees, and yet we still managed to sell 10 more soaps. To give some perspective, I have had bad days at these markets where I have sold 1 or fewer items with my logo designs on them. What’s encouraging for us is the fact that we were selling at a market where there were far fewer customers and we still managed to sell 10 more. If anything, this indicates that our product has the ability to attract attention and sell at high rates even if there are days where not as many people appear at these markets.

The fact of the matter is that even though it wasn’t as high in sales as the previous market, we have still shown significant improvements in our ability to sell our products.

This is a step in the right direction for us as far as making connections and getting our brand names for Luxus and Urban Treehouse out in the community. However, this doesn’t mean we’re going to stop improving our brand and presentation.

Moving to the Next Market…

This next market we will be selling at will probably be our most well presented market to date. We are in the works of getting a banner of the Luxus logo with a descriptor (will be seen in my next article). We felt a banner was the most appropriate because it allows us to describe our product since it’s relatively new and unknown compared to much larger soap brands. We hope by creating an association and an impression, we can eventually gravitate towards building a much larger sign (see concept below).

I’ve written about my passion for good signage on objects and architecture in previous articles because I am a strong believer that good forms of design can go together well. This is why I also continue to play with viewing the Luxus logo on much larger objects such as food truck trailers (see below).

I would say this was inspired by seeing great logos such as the Fedex logo on trucks all around our environment. Seeing a logo like this in so many contexts on such a consistent basis continues to inspire me to think big, because I know that a strong identity has the ability to change the environment around us. These types of things are the driving factor that forces me to continue to improve our products and presentation.

The Point of Saying this is…

Having a passion, a why and a feeling of purpose with what we do can be key to living a better life and helping others to live their lives to the best of their talents and abilities. The fact of the matter is that if something feels important and it can do good for other people, your work won’t always feel like work.

This is why I would encourage any person that reads or sees us in the community to know that we encourage you to follow your passion or dream no matter how big or small that might be. This allows us to set long term and short term goals and exploit talents that we didn’t know we had. It also allows for self improvement and it makes us stronger and more understanding of each other as a whole. Don’t get so focused on simply comparing yourself to others that you forget the value that you bring to the world, because that value could make another person’s life a little better each day.

We will continue to provide analysis and updates as we continue to learn and build this brand!
